Chef Enrico began his career in 1986 in his home country at the "Elbterrasse" Restaurant and "Laterne" Restaurant. On completion of his formal training, Chef Enrico had the opportunity to work for "Tantris" a Two Michelin star Restaurant in the heart of Munich, famous for its International cuisine. In 1993, he accepted the offer of Sous Chef and joined the "Bamberger Reiter" One Michelin star Restaurant in Berlin, where he became renowned for his cooking style.
Chef Enrico relocated to the U.K to work for the "Anton Mosiman" exclusive members only private dining club, he was so inspired by the diversity of cuisines available, he decided to further his career by accepting a position with The Ritz Hotel in London. When the offer to work for the award winning "La Bergerie" a two Michelin star restaurant in Luxembourg presented itself, Chef Enrico embraced the role where he continued to utilize his expertise in the culinary arts.
In April 1998, what Chef Enrico refers to as his biggest break occurred, when he was offered the role of Head Chef to open what has become one of New York's most highly acclaimed dining venues - "EQ".
After four years in the Big Apple, Chef Enrico decided to return to Europe to join the upscale restaurant "Fiorini" in Holland. He then moved to Cyprus as the Executive Chef for the "Cava" restaurant located in The Elysium Hotel. In fact, during Enrico presence, the property received the first Michelin Star. Enrico did not stop there he continued his success when he received the gold award for the 'National Grand Prix' cooking competition.
Talking about his career, Chef Enrico comments,
"The highlight of my career as a chef would have to be the period in New York at "EQ"- it was the hardest I've ever worked, the most rewarding and satisfying...it was a constant adrenalin rush."
"New York was a special time and while I recognize the period in my life as a highlight, I'm delighted to have joined the award winning The Chedi Muscat. I am looking forward to enhancing that unique dining experience that The Restaurant has become known for. Researching the wonderful fresh produce available, I'm working on some creative ideas for the already extensive menu. There will be a lot of interesting changes and additions," comments Chef Enrico.
